Discipleship Training

What is Discipleship Training?

We believe every believer should be growing in their faith and walk with the Lord. Discipleship groups are the best way to plug in and grow deeper through God’s Word. We have a group meeting on Sunday evening at 5:00pm, on Wednesday evening at 6:00pm, and some throughout the week. Check out a list of our events below. If you have any questions or would like to know more about Discipleship Training, please email ahackler@tabernaclebaptist.org.

With Financial Peace University (aka FPU). This course gives you a step-by-step plan based on commonsense principles that actually make sense. It’s all the things you wish someone had sat down and taught you years ago. And thankfully, it isn’t too late to learn it now!

Courage to Stand
Leader:Andrew Hackler

Conviction: Courage to Stand
Join us as we take a deep dive into the importance of Christian conviction this semester on Wednesday nights. In our modern day, the courage to have conviction seems to dwindle by the day. Will Christians stand firm upon the truth and promises of God’s Word? We’ll look at the trends of modern Christians and how to create a culture of Christian Conviction

In His Image: Ten Ways God Call Us to Reflect His Character
Leader: Katie Hackler

In His Image explores 10 attributes of God that Christians are called to reflect—they are called to be holy, loving, just, good, merciful, gracious, faithful, patient, truthful, and wise. This book calls readers to discover the freedom and purpose in becoming all that God made them to be.

The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis
Leader: John Gresh

The Screwtape Letters has entertained and enlightened readers the world over with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life and foibles from the unique vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to the devil. At once wildly comic, deadly serious, and strikingly original, C.S. Lewis gives us the correspondence of the wordly-wise devil to his nephew Wormwood, a novice demon in charge of securing the damnation of an ordinary young man. The Screwtape Letters is the most engaging account of temptation—and triumph over it—ever written.
