Maybe you’ve asked this question before and you’re still not sure of the answer. There are many words the Bible uses to describe Jesus: the Messiah, King of Kings, Helper, Advocate, Deliverer, Good Shepherd, just to name a few. Perhaps the most important thing to understand about Jesus is his unconditional love. This love is the cornerstone of who He is and the motivation for what He did to save each of us from a life separated from God.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." -John 3:16
We believe that this is one of the most asked questions in our culture today. Why Jesus? Why not another god, idol, or philosophy? We believe that Jesus is the ultimate answer that people today are not only looking for, but need most in their life.
There are 4 pieces that will help direct you in your quest to answer this question:
1) He gives us HOPE
2) He is TRUTH with no lies
3) He shows us how to live out our lives with PURPOSE
4) He LOVES you
The word “Gospel” literally means “good news.” In order to understand why there’s good news, we must first understand the bad news: we have all sinned.
As a result of the fall in the garden of Eden, mankind is inherently corrupted by sin. Sin is anything we say, think, or do that displeases God. Because of our sin, we are separated from our Creator and deserve the penalty for our sin: “For the wages of sin is death..." However, God sent His Son, Jesus, to save you: "but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” - Romans 6:23
Even though we can’t earn our way back to God or measure up to His perfection, God sent Jesus to come to us! We deserved the death penalty for our sin, but Jesus took the penalty. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to be born of a virgin, live a perfect and holy life, die on the cross, rise from the dead, and conquer our sins. We can be saved by grace through faith in Him! We can depend on Jesus for forgiveness, everlasting life (spending eternity with Him in Heaven), and a relationship with Him here on Earth.‍
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
- Romans 5:8
“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” - Ephesians 2:8–9

Repent

What does it mean to repent? It means to do a spiritual U-turn with the help of the Holy Spirit. You turn from sin, and you turn to God. It doesn’t mean you’ll never sin again, but it does mean you are tired of sin and don’t want to do it anymore.
“Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” - Luke 13:3‍

Believe

Believe that Jesus paid the price for your sin, and He rose from the dead to give you eternal life.
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” - Acts 16:31 ‍

Receive

Invite Christ to come into your life to be your Lord and Savior. The moment you call upon His name and receive Him as your Savior, He makes you a new creation.
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.” - John 1:12
